Age Segmentation

Our divisions are grade based and split as follows:

1st and 2nd Graders

3rd and 4th Graders

5th and 6th Graders

7th and 8th Graders

PLAYING OUTSIDE OF YOUR APPROPRIATE AGE GROUP

1.  We do not recommend for or against allowing players to play at any level other than the one indicated by their grade level.  

2.  We do not prohibit playing above grade level.  OYLA's intention is to be outside of the decision of whether to play up or not.  It is entirely the decision of the clubs and the members thereof.  

3.  We do prohibit playing below grade level for the safety of players from other clubs.

4.  We recognize that in certain cases there may be an increased possibility of injury when a player plays outside of his cohort.  OYL does not accept any liability for injuries sustained as a result of such playing up.  To the extent that OYL would have liability for any tacit or active support of such a practice, OYL’s policy is to have all players participating within their appropriate age group.
